Pada 29 Februari 2012 Microsoft juga telah merilis Versi Consumer Preview sebelum di keluarkannya versi beta pada bulan Maret 2012 ^[5] Microsoft juga telah merilis Versi Release Preview , ini merupakan versi terakhir percobaan Windows 8, yang tidak akan di utak atik lagi jika tidak ditemukan bug yang terlalu besar.

Cara Membagi Partisi Hardisk PC Tanpa Software

Berikut caranya:

1. Buka Computer management dengan cara klik kanan Computer kemudian pilih Manage 
   
   
2. Pada jendela Computer management pilih Disk Management.
3. Pada panel sebelah kanan pilih drive yang akan dipartisi (pada gambar dibawah adalah drive D) kemudian klik kanan dan pilih Shrink volume 
   
   
4. Masukkan nilai volume untuk partisi baru yang akan anda buat. Ukuran volume yg digunakan adalah MB (Mega Byte)
   
5. Akan terbentuk space baru yang berwarna hijau muda.
   
   
6. Klik kanan pada free space tersebut lalu pilih New Simple Volume
   
   
7. Klik next sampai selesai.
8. Selamat Partisi baru telah dibuat!
